DRILLS:


1) PROGRESSIVE QB
The players should start off on their knees with one partner holding the football. On the coach's signal, the players should begin passing thefootball to their partner.
b) After several passes, the players kneel on right knee (for righthanders)only to continue to pass.
c) The next step is for the players is to stand approx. 2 yards apart whilepassing the football.
d) Progress by having the players take 2 steps back, increasing the distancebetween them.
e) Eventually the players will take more steps backward as they begin to feelcomfortable throwing

2) TWO KNEE DRILL
Players need to be paired up with a partner for this drill. The players kneel on both knees approx. 5-10 yards apart. The receiving partner holds hands up in the air (acts as a target).
Stress technique and proper mechanics NOT power.

3) FOLLOW-THROUGH DRILL
Righthanded throwers - should step with their left foot.
Lefthanded throwers - should step with their right foot.

Players should use the front of their stepping foot to point in the desiredthrowing location.

4) ON THE RUN DRILL
This drill is designed to help players throw while on the run. Work with apartner, as you play catch with eachother while running down the length of the field. Maintain 10-15 yards between you and your partner.

5) HOT POTATO DRILL
5-10 students form a circle. The students throw the ball to eachother. Quick throws and catches are executed. This drill is designed to work on eye-hand co-ordination & keeping your eye on the ball.

6) PASSING THROUGH HOOPS
Have the players in groups of 4. Have 2 players hold up a hoop while theother 2 attempt to throw to eachother. Alternate positions in the group. Hoops can also be hung from soccer goal posts outside or basketball nets indoors.

7) CUT TO THE CORNER
Players are in a square formation with a pylon in the middle. The cornerperson with the ball passes to the center, touches the pylon and returns. New passer and receiver starts. The activity ends when all have passed and caught the ball.

8) GIVE AND GO
Players in groups of 2-3. Have one student pass the ball forward to a receiverand then run up to receive the ball back.

9) PASS BALL
This activity is adapted from kickball and baseball. One football and 4 softball bases are needed. Players in groups of 6-8. The players are numbered off. The first player stands at home plate while the rest are in the field (scattered). The player at home begins by passing the football as far as he/she can and then proceeds to run the bases. The fielders attempt to retrieve the ball and throw it in to home plate before the thrower reaches home. One point is awarded for each base the thrower touches, and 6 points if they reach home safely. The runner then goes out into the field while the next number is called for their throw. Highest individual score wins.

10) CATCHER IN THE MIDDLE
Five (5) players are required for this activity. Four (4) of the players areline up in a circle formation. The 5th player is in the middle, acting as a receiver. The middle person is approx. 5 yards away from each circle player. Each player on the circle has a ball with them ready to throw. The middleplayer starts that activity by calling out "ready". The middle player catches the ball and quickly flips it backs and turns to his/her left to receive another pass. This activity is designed to work on reaction time, quickness, and turning to receive the ball.

11) BLIND TOSS DRILL
Player A lines up approx. 10 yards from his/her coach with their back to him/her (a player can take the place of the "coach" within their groups). The "coach" throws the ball toward the player and when it is half-way to the player, the coach yells out "right or left". The players then turns quickly to catch
